Margaret (Peggy) Ann Meyers McCoy, 81, of Irvona, died of renal failure at the Colonial Courtyard in Tyrone on Dec. 24, 2023.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1942 to John and Luetta Meyers, She attended the BCI School and was a stellar student.
Everybody who knew Peggy knew that her greatest love was Jesus. She was very active in her church community and enjoyed discussing the Scriptures. She attended the Glendale Assembly of God Church in Coalport for most of her life, where she taught children's church, vacation Bible school and Missionettes - a girl's program that two of her granddaughters graduated from. She was also an active member of the women's ministry for many years. In her later years, she attended Rock of Freedom Fellowship.
Peggy was also an active member of the Irvona community. She was elected and served as an Irvona Council member. During her years in office , she was integral in updating and maintaining the Elderberry Park.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, George Irvin McCoy, in 2005; and her son, Dale Robert McCoy in 2021.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandra McCoy of Irvona; son, John McCoy of Irvona; and several grandchildren and great-grandhcildren.
Friends will be received Friday, Jan. 5, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc., Irvona. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Korzenowski officiating.
