Jack Kutruff of Coalport, passed away Aug. 16, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1929 in St. Lawrence, PA. He grew up on a small family farm and worked for many years at the Swank Factory in Irvona. Jack was one of seven children born to Cyril and Lorena (Albright) Kutruff. He was preceded in death by his former wife Dorothy (Vargo) Donley and his second wife, Evelyn. He was also preceded in death by siblings Donna (Don) Epling, James (Phyllis) Kutruff, Wanda (Earl) Thompson and Loretta (Russ) Wharton. He is survived by his daughters Rosemarie (Jack) Green and Carolyn (Terry) Gillen. his grandchildren, Chris (Erin) Green, Jody Green and Frank (Tammie) Gillen as well as sisters Marian (Joe) Long and Marnetta (Robert) Carlson and great grandchildren Aden and Meghan Green and Hailey and James Gillen. There are many nieces and nephews that will share good memories of Uncle Jack. The family wishes to especially thank Wanda Bollinger for being such a caring and generous friend to Dad for many years. They also want to thank his friends at the Coalport Moose who were like an extended family to Jack. The camaraderie he shared with you was an important part of his life for many years. Jack was a skilled and talented carpenter. Many people in the community and places far and wide have beautiful pieces of furniture made by his skilled hands. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind and generous man who loved sharing a meal, a piece of cake or a good laugh with you. He will be greatly missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at St. Basil the Great Church, the Very Rev. Zab Amar, celebrant. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
