James Tatum Obituary

James D. "Jim" "The Fighting Tater" Tatum, 37, Clearfield, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019, at his home.

He was born in Sharon, son of Henry and Charlotte Tatum.

Surviving are his parents; four siblings: Rebecca (Matthew) Reifer, Jeffery (Stacy) McClenahan, Amanda (Jeffrey) Papay and Mary Tatum (John) Robinson; seven nephews: Matthew, Daniel, Zachary, Nathan, Kameron, Tate and Robert; two nieces: Allison and Abigail; and many cousins, uncles and aunts.

Although he was a bit rough around the edges, to know Jim was to love him. He had a huge heart, and was generous and loyal. Jim was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, grandson, co-worker, and friend. Jim loved his nephews and nieces and was their one and only, "Uncle Jim." He was a cat lover and adored his fur child, a mild-mannered cat named Ghost.

Jim served his country through multiple deployments with the U.S. Air National Guard and was preparing to retire this fall after 20 years of service. He was a dedicated Corrections Officer at Quehanna Boot Camp.

Jim enjoyed music, video games, Jameson Scotch Whiskey, a lively discussion and the company of those he held dear.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Irvona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Ramey, Father Zab Amar celebrant. Interment will be at St. Basil Cemetery.
