CURWENSVILLE — Jane S. Blackburn, 84, of Curwensville, passed away Monday, Nov. 12 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born Aug. 6, 1934 in Rockton, daughter of Lawrence and Celia Iona (Hoover) Shaffer.
Jane was a member of Rockton Lutheran Church. She had worked as a operating room nurse at Clearfield Hospital.
Jane and her husband, Richard, started Blackburn Dairy Farm in 1959. She worked along side him for more than 50 years operating the family farm and raising her children. She took pride in her cooking and was a wonderful host to many.
Jane is survived by three sisters, JoAnn Daily, Barb Shaffer, and Karen Snyder.; three children, Boyd Blackburn and partner Hannah Ross, Scott Blackburn and wife Nancy, and Susan Bloom; nine grandchildren, Steve Blackburn and wife Becky, Autumn McBride and husband Steve, Tom Bryan and wife Deborah, Haley Parrish and husband Chad, Jessica Nearhoof, Boyd Matthew Blackburn and wife Brittany, Casey Siegel and partner Mark Harnish, Jackie Bloom, and Zachariah Bloom; 13 great-grandchildren, Josh Blackburn, Stephen and Matthew McBride, Kayliann and Isaac Bryan, Jeb Blackburn, Henry and Eliza Nearhoof, Roland and Brayleigh Blackburn, Ethan Siegel, Ryder Polites and Christian Bloom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard Foster Blackburn; her daughter, Sherry Bryan; brothers, Vernon Shaffer and Larry Shaffer; and sisters, Violet Kozden and Loraine Snyder.
Friends will be received Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc., Irvona.
Services will be held at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Friday officiated by Pastor Scott Schultz.
Interment will follow at LaJose Cemetery.
