David Elmer Helsel, Sr., 56, of Irvona, died Dec. 20, 2023 at UPMC Altoona surrounded by his children.
Born April 14, 1967, son of the late Melvin and Maxine (Keith) Helsel.
He married Lisa Blake in Westover on July 23, 1988; she preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2021.
Survived by daughter, Amanda and husband Tommy Chutko of Irvona; son, David and wife Lynda of Rosebud; and three grandchildren, Landon Chutko and Haley Chutko of Irvona and Abby Peacock of Coalport; brother, James Helsel of Womelsdorf.
Preceded in death by parents; wife; brother, Roger Helsel; mother-in-law, Billie Blake; and sister in law, Tammy Busch.
David was a truck driver for Weakland Trucking and other companies for 28 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and the Redskins football, hunting, fishing, watching MASH, and going on road trips.
Visitation will be held at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Rose Street, Irvona, on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Queen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Westover Baptist Church, 58 East Bridge St., Westover, PA 16692.
