Obituary

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - On Friday, Feb. 4, 2023, Don E. Dimmick passed away in Gaithersburg, Md. He was 85 years old.

He was born to John and Margaret (Patterson) Dimmick in Ferguson Township, Clearfield County.

Don lived in several towns throughout Pennsylvania and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for large coal mining operations, including Benjamin Coal and Hepburnia Coal.

At 24, Don married the love of his life, Barbara Beatty, and they were happily married for over 60 years with two beautiful children.

Don was active with the Punxsutawney Area Amateur Radio Club. He loved western movies and country music. His life was spent with close friends and a beautiful family in the Mahaffey community he loves.

He is survived by his son, Darrin; daughter-in-law, Jeanne; and grandchildren, Dalton (16), Jordus (14) and Brynne (9).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Leah; sisters, Helen Snyder and Anna Mary Snyder; and brothers, Delmont Patterson and John E. Dimmick.

A memorial service and viewing will be held at Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey on Feb. 12, 2023.

The viewing will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tim McGarvey officiating.

A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service.
