Edward "Gwen" Peterson of Coalport passed away Nov. 22, 2025 at the Presbyterian Village.
Edward was born Sept. 20, 1938 and is the son of Clyde and Hazel (Barto) Peterson.
Edward is preceded in death by his two parents; wife, Ruth (Niebauer) Peterson; brothers, Richard G. (Janice), and Leroy F.
Edward is survived by his aunt, Gertrude; nephews, Mark (Donna), Al (Vickie); nieces, KayLynn Stiver (Jeff), Janet (Eugene) Shirley; great nieces, Jillian Stiver and Angie (Seth) Westover; and great nephew, Kyle Stiver.
Edward worked as a correction officer at the SCI Smithfield. He was a member of the St. Basil the Great Parish, Irvona Rod & Gun Club, Coalport Masonic Lodge 574, Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, Ancient Scottish Rite in Altoona, and was a Irvona Volunteer Fire Company Chief.
Visitation will be held for Edward on Nov. 25, 2025 from 6- 8 p.m. with the Masonic service starting at 6. The service will be held the following day, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. with Father Soloman officiating, all at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home in Irvona.
