Gerald Earl McGarvey

Gerald Earl McGarvey, 88, of Clearfield, and formerly of Coalport, died March 18, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born July 2, 1932 in Chest Township, Clearfield County, a son of Amos C. and Lana (McCulley) McGarvey.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Clearfield.

He worked as a coal miner for Rushton Mines.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene Shimmel McGarvey of Clearfield; sons, Gerald McGarvey of Osceola Mills, and Jeffery McGarvey of Windber; brother, David McGarvey of Florida; sisters, Doris Bish of New York, and sister Lois Horan of Florida; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Turman; brother, Merle McGarvey; and sister, Barbara McGarvey.

At Earl's request, there was no viewing.

A family graveside service was held Saturday, March 20, 2021 with Pastor Robert Queen officiating.

Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.
