IRVONA — James A. Irwin, 83, of Irvona, died Sunday, May 28 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Beccaria Township, a son of Jessie James Irwin and Zella Elizabeth (Dotts) Irwin. He was a member of Glen Hope United Methodist Church where he was treasurer, and he was a charter member and treasurer of Glen Hope Water Authority.
He worked as a controller for Wampum Hardware.
Surviving are his wife, Rosella Irwin; two daughters, Suzanne McLaughlin and Christina (Timothy) Erwin; a sister, Norma Irvine; a granddaughter, Alyssa McLaughlin; three grandsons, Justin McLaughlin, Maxim Erwin, and Brock Erwin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie James Irwin; his mother, Zella Elizabeth Irwin; a brother, Charles Irwin; and three sisters, Marie Irwin, Grace Irwin, and Carolyn Gatehouse.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Glen Hope United Methodist Church, 5985 Glen Hope Blvd., Glen Hope.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Fields officiating.
Interment will be at Utahville Cemetery, Utahville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Glen Hope United Methodist Church, 5985 Glen Hope Blvd., Glen Hope, PA 16645, in memory of Jim.
