Joe David Morrison

Joe David Morrison, 87, died April 29, 2026 in the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Joe was born June 13, 1938 in Irvona and was the son of Fred and Beulah (Barnhardt) Morrison. He was married to Sarah Bailey who died Oct. 23, 2008.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Kelly D.; and brother, Tom.

Joe is the father of Steven Morrison and Ronald Sweet, both of Warren, brother of Fred D. (Pet) of Richmond, Va., Susan Rowles of Irvona, Robert (Tim) of Irvona; one grandson, Peter D. wife Julie; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Leah, and Lane.

Joe was a US Army Sergeant 1st Class and Retired from US Army Reserves of Jamestown, N.Y.

He worked as a Union Carpenter, Park Ranger at Black Moshannon State Park in the 1980s, Asphlyn Tree Service, and Struthers Wells, and Volunteered Van Driver for DAV Van.

Joe loved to hunt and fish.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. with a funeral service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Robert Queen at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc. in Irvona. Burial will be in IndianaTown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, on May 7, 2026.

Honor Guard from the Janesville V.F.W. will perform the Honors Wednesday evening.
