John “PJ” Patterson, 68, of Irvona died May 4, 2018 at his residence.
PJ was born June 27, 1949 in Philipsburg, the son of the late Frederick and Lois (Sincox) Patterson. He was married to Judy (Noel) Patterson, who survives.
He was also a member of the Coalport Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 574; the Fred R. Korman Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 55, where he was a past noble grand; Coalport Lions Club, where he was a past president, lion tamer and tail twister; the Richard L. Beers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7043; Clearfield County Planning Commission; Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association; and Glendale Industrial Development Association, where he was president and Irvona Borough, where he was mayor at the time of his death.
PJ was a veteran of the U.S. Army
In addition to his wife, he’s survived by his daughters, Tiffany Patterson of South Riding Va., and Jennifer O’Shell and her husband, Denny of Irvona and sons, John Patterson of Houtzdale, Matthew Patterson of Haymarket, Va., and John Weakland of Rosebud.
Mr. Patterson is also survived by his grandson, Devon Patterson and granddaughters, Piper Rolli, Nichole Coccia and Samantha Warner.
PJ was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Lori Hewitt-Patterson.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., 91 Rose St., Irvona.
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows will hold a service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
