Martin Dale "Doc" Miller, 82, of Vienna, Va. and Palm Bay, Fla. passed away peacefully at his home in Vienna. Va. on Oct. 7 after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Mr. Miller was born on Sept. 14, 1940 in Cherry Tree, the son of Graham S. Miller and Helen P. (McFarland) Miller.
He was a graduate of Harmony Area High School, Class of 1958. Mr. Miller retired as a division manager from the Federal Aviation Administration with 34 years of service. Prior to that he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war.
Martin was an avid sports enthusiast and supported all of the Washington, D.C. area teams. His favorite team was the Washington Nationals, and we are grateful that he was able to enjoy their World Series win in 2019.
He loved reading, gardening, traveling, and deep-sea fishing. He also enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids thrive.
Martin is survived by his wife Caroline ("Linda" Ballarotto) whom he married in 1964; two children, Cindi Cameron (Kenneth), Carla London (Daniel); grandchildren, Christian and Drew Cameron, from Vienna, Va., Hannah, Tatum and Elle London from San Diego, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Graham W. Miller and James M. Miller.
Funeral services were held at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home, Inc. with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating.
Interment was in the Citizen's Cemetery, Cherry Tree.
