MaryBelle Bakaysa, 98, of Thompsontown, died Nov. 30, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Jan. 15, 1927, she was the daughter of Warren and Dove (Young) Curry.
She married John Bakaysa on July 17, 1948, in Mahaffey.
She was the mother of Richard Bakaysa of LaJose, Barbara (Joe) Orange of Indiana, Judy (Kenneth) Long of Rossiter, Pamela (Kevin) Lettie of Punxsutawney, Lisa (Alan) Gallaher of Irvona; and grandmother of Jason Long, James Gallaher, Joseph Gallaher, Amber Diehl, Darrin Lettie, Dylan Lettie
She is preceded in death by her brother, Ed; and sisters, Inez, Eunice, Alta, Violet, and Elsie.
In her early years she worked at Pateli Dress Shop in Coalport, where she met her husband.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and AARP life member.
Family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 2-5 p.m.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., 91 Rose Street, Irvona, with the Rev. Richard Engle officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.
