Maxine (Elling) Straw

MAHAFFEY — Maxine E. Straw, 89, of Mahaffey, died July 22, 2018 at Ridgeview Eldercare & Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

Maxine was born in Mahaffey, a daughter of Frank  and Maude (Kitchen) Elling.

She was a member of Banner Ridge Community Church.

She was a homemaker

Surviving are daughters, Sandy and husband Max Nudge of Bloomsburg, Linda Bouch of Mahaffey, Donna and her husband Tom Pontzer of Dubois, Mary and her husband Robert Witherow of Berwinsdale, and Kathy and her husband Craig Moyer of Tipton; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, James Newton Straw; parents; brothers, Frank Elling, Edward Elling and John Elling; and sisters, Mary Stuller and Anna Elling.

Memorial services will be held at Banner Ridge Community Church, Mahaffey at 2 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 12, 2018
