Melvin G. “Boz” McCulley, 85, of Westover, passed away on September 25, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on June 2, 1933 in Westover a son of Charles and Margaret (Gaynor) McCulley.
On December 2, 1950 he married Helen Adams who survives.
Boz worked as a School Bus Driver for the Harmony Area School District for over 30 years. In addition to driving school bus he had worked at the Westover Tannery, Rushton Mines, cut timber and was a farmer.
He was a Corporal in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne serving from July 31, 1950 to Oct. 30, 1953.
Boz is survived by four children: Jeanne (Gary) McGarvey, Robin (Don) Sunderland, Bonnie (Francis) Sable, and Mark (Louri) McCulley all of Westover.
Also surviving are his sister, Twila (Randy) Straw of Berwinsdale; Brother, Robert (Virginia) McGarvey of Hollentown; Jim (Bev) Black who was like a son to Boz; 12 Grandchildren: Rhonda (Chuck) Ginter, Shawn (Cindy) McGarvey, Miste (Francis) Oaks, Sonya (Brad) Buterbaugh, Tonya Fry, Shane McGarvey, Jason Sunderland, MJ (Stacey) McCulley, Derek McCulley, Josh McCulley, Cody Black and Brandon Black. 11 great grandchildren: Donnie Oaks, Eliza (Gary)Witherow, Justin Oaks, Matthew McGarvey, Macy Fry, Adam McGarvey, Zach Fry, Jalyn Buterbaugh, Jaycob McCulley, Emilee Buterbaugh and Hollie McCulley. 1 great great granddaughter, Scarlett Witherow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Clarence Troxell; three sisters, Kathryn Gilman, Bertha Haines and Nedra Westover; Brother Charles McCulley; infant daughter, son-in-law Chuck Beam and grandson Chad Beam.
Friends will be received Friday, September 28, at the Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, from 5:00-8:00 pm
A funeral service will be held at the Moriconi Funeral Home Saturday, September 29, at 11:00 am with Rev. Gary McGarvey and Lay Pastor Shawn McGarvey co officiating.
Burial will take place in the East Ridge Cemetery.
Because of his love of driving his kids to their games, donations may be made to the Harmony Sports Booster 5239 Ridge Rd, Westover, PA 16692 In lieu of Flowers.
