Ruth Ann (Kitchen) McGarvey

LAJOSE - Ruth Ann McGarvey, 73, of LaJose, died June 24, 2021 in Haida Heath Care, Hastings.

She was born Nov. 21, 1947 in Spangler, daughter of John B. Kitchen and Neeima M. Fleming

She was a member of Westover Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and foster mother.

She liked to read and take pictures.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Don McGarvey; a son, Kenneth Todd McGarvey; a daughter and son-in-law, Louri D. and Mark McCulley; a foster child, Donald Hatch; a sister, Marilyn Dimmick; a daughter-in-law, Lynn McGarvey; a sister-in-law, Kathy Kitchen; grandsons, Mark James "MJ" McCulley, Derek McCulley, Joshua E. McCulley and Summet McGarvey; a granddaughter, Madisyn McConnel; a great-grandson, Jaycob McCulley; and a great granddaughter, Hollie McCulley. She is also survived by her canine companion, Diego.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Norman Kitchen and Johnny Kitchen; and a son, Philip R. McGarvey.

Friends will be received Monday, June 28, from 5-8 p.m. at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc. Irvona, and Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Westover Baptist Church, from 9-11 a.m. with her nephew, Shawn McGarvey officiating.

Services with be held at 11 a.m. in the church.

Interment will follow in the Westover Cemetery.
