Twila L. (Miles) Smyers

Twila L. Smyers, 100, Irvona, went home to the Lord on April 10 , 2020, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born January 17 ,1920 in Coalport, the daughter of John K. and Esther (Nedimyer) Miles.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Raymond Smyers; brothers, George, Melvin and Floyd Miles; sisters, Florence Pitcock and Betty Morris;  sisters-in-law, Doris and Ruth Miles; brothers-in-law Irvin Pitcock and Joe Morris.

Survived by son, Raymond (Shirley Braniff ) Smyers, Irvona; grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Smyers, Emeryville CA; Renee (Keith) Stewart, Murrysville; Mark (Lindsay) Front Royal, VA; Shelby (Mike) McGeehin, Phoenixville; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ella, Cole, Claire, Dylan, Grayson, Damian, and Caleb .  Also surviving are siblings, John (Victoria) Miles, Jr., Irvona; Roger (Darlene) Miles, Irvona; Jerry (Margarette) Miles, Coalport; Luella Desmett, Tallmadge, Ohio; Vivian Michaels, Carrolltown; Donna Gilham, State College; and sister-in-law, Naomi Miles, Coalport.  .   She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.  Member of Irvona Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.  Twila worked as a Teachers Aid at the Glendale High School retiring in 1985.  Twila always loved going for walks around town.  A Memorial Services will be held at Irvona Christian & Missionary Alliance Church,  which will be announced at a later date.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.
